Students are talking about someone going to common places.  They are creating sentences, verbally and in writing, about theselves and their classmates going to common places with somebody.  They are beginning to tell how they get to common places as well. They are using the following vocabulary:

yo voy  -  I go                                                             a pie  -  by foot
tú vas   -  you go                                                     en coche - by car
él va  - he goes                                                    en bicicleta - by bike
ella va  -  she goes                                               en autobús - by bus


la escuela                   la casa
la tienda                     la playa

An example of a sentence they are creating is:
Sra Redondo va a la escuela en coche con Gavin. 

Try creating some silly sentences with your child!

We are talking about family is Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade.  Look at your family picture and ask your student to say family members in Spanish.  They should be able to say:
mamá  -  mom
papá  -  dad
hermana  - sister
hermano  -  brother
abuela  - grandmother
abuelo  -  grandfather
